Accelerators - Challenge Submission Form 2022

Accelerators - Challenge Submission Form 2022

INTRODUCTION

Please complete this form to propose an IBC Accelerator Media Innovation Project. Projects will be selected by IBC to go forward in March 2022. The goal is to create an expert industry team of Champions to support successful business or technology challenges, by recruiting a team of supportive ‘Champions’ (see below) and expert ‘Participant’ vendors that can help solve the challenge and showcase the solution as a Proof of Concept at IBC 2022 (9-12 September 2022, in Amsterdam).

This page contains:

  • Submission form questions for your proposed Accelerator Project
  • Programme information, key dates for vendor/ supplier participation
  • Links to further details on the Accelerator programme
  • Fees for 2022 participation TBC

Please note the deadline to submit your challenge is Friday 18th February 2022.
After this date our team may be unable to accept your project proposal.

Following the successful evaluation of your submission, IBC will invite you to pitch the challenge at an Accelerator ‘Kickstart’ pitch event in Q1 2022 (Exact Date & Location TBD), where challenges will be assessed, and project teams will begin to be formed.

ACCELERATOR PROJECT TEAMS & ROLES

There are two distinct roles in Accelerator Projects - Champions and Participants:

Champions are the buyers or end users for the solutions e.g. broadcasters, studios, platforms, content owners and providers. They define the business challenge they would like to address and validate that the project addresses a significant industry challenge. They also help to develop the project use cases and evangelise the solution within their organisation and to the wider industry. There can be multiple Champions supporting projects, but the minimum required is one. Champions do not pay fees for involvement but there will be a registration fee for Champions to join the programme in 2022.

Participants are the companies which build, develop and sell products, equipment, solutions & services e.g. vendors, manufacturers, software & application developers, systems integrators etc. They help design the solution collaboratively with the guidance of Champions and alongside other participants, culminating in a PoC demonstration at the end of the project cycle, which is between 4-6 months. There must be a minimum of four Participants working in a project, and the maximum is eight. Participant fees are applicable, to be confirmed shortly..

At this early stage of the process, we don’t expect that you will necessarily have a full team in place or have met all the requirements for the full go ahead of your project, but we request that you give consideration to Co-Champions that you would like to involve, and particularly to the vendors and specific expertise that you would like to recruit into the project.

This is where the IBC team will provide support for matchmaking to engage additional Champions and Participants with an interest in the challenge and compatible expertise to achieve the goals of the project in order to help you succeed.

When completed, please submit your completed proposal form by Friday 18th February 2022
Project Team Proposal

IBC welcomes project challenges that address business or technology challenges (with collaboration at the core) between champions and participants as a key principle

Please add details below of your proposed project team members below (those involved currently or who you would like to reach out to become involved). You may not yet have a complete team in place, but if you have already held discussions with potential co-Champions or prospective Participant vendors, please add their details, including contact information below. These could be either confirmed, tentative or on your wish list at present.

Please note: A project may not be fully approved to proceed without meeting the required number of confirmed Champions and Participants. The minimum number of team members per Accelerator project are 1 Champion and 4 Participants, though more are strongly encouraged. Roles marked in red are required; please add additional rows as needed.
