IBC Code of Conduct
IBC is dedicated to providing our attendees a professional, safe, positive and harassment free environment and experience at our show, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, physical appearance, disability, age, religious beliefs or race.
IBC is not a place for inappropriate, disruptive, or abusive behaviour, either in person or online.
Our Code of Conduct sets principles that requires all attendee’s (staff, exhibitors, sponsors, visitors, speakers, delegates, press and contractors) to cooperate to help ensure a positive experience for all who attend the IBC show.
If for any reason IBC deems that any attendee has failed to meet the standards set by this Code of Conduct at the show or online, IBC reserves the right to take the appropriate actions, including revoking an individual’s or group’s passes without refund and/or being removed from the premises.
IBC Anti-Harassment Guidelines
IBC will not tolerate harassment of event attendees in any form. All attendees are expected to comply with our guidelines to promote a respectful and positive environment and experience for the duration of the event, including social events and online. This includes:
- Offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, or religious beliefs
- The use of sexualised materials, content or images in and around the venue and on social media
- Deliberate intimidation, following or stalking
- Inappropriate photography
- Inappropriate physical contact and unwelcome sexual attention
- Inappropriate dress of a sexualised nature
IBC Exhibitor Dress Code Guidelines
All staff on or around exhibition stands are expected to dress in a business or business casual attire. Exhibitors, and sponsors in and around the halls are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, exhibitors should not use sexualised images, activities, or other material. Exhibitors should ensure their stand staff and promotional staff (including stand host, promotional staff) should not use sexualised clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualised environment, nor should they wear clothing deemed inappropriate towards other cultures and nationalities.
IBC requests that all exhibiting companies ensure their stand staff adhere to appropriate event attire. If for any reason your attire is deemed inappropriate or offensive, as the event organiser, IBC reserves the right to take the appropriate actions (e.g. individual staff will be requested to change their attire or being removed from the premises).
Reporting a Complaint to IBC
If you experience or notice a violation of this Code of Conduct at IBC, please contact a member of IBC staff immediately.
Reporting of complaints can be made in person to IBC staff, at the IBC organiser’s offices or by email at codeofconduct@ibc.org.
Reporting of incidents will be held in the strictest of confidence and escalated to the appropriate IBC personnel to take action accordingly.
All violations of the law should be reported to local law enforcement. For emergencies that occur at the RAI venue, dial the emergency number + 31 (0)20 549 1234. For emergencies that occur outside of the RAI, immediately dial the national emergency number 112
