The Challenge Objective:

The Challenge Objective:

Many entertainment customers need to localize Movies & TV Shows into regional versions to better connect with local audiences. As streaming platforms compete for an ever-expanding global audience, the pressure and demand on localization services has increased exponentially.

Rapid and cost-effective localization is key to entertainment companies delivering their marquee content to new markets, and also bringing international content to the established English-language marketplace. However, in many cases, the localization process is neither ‘rapid’, nor ‘cost-effective’, with prohibitive costs being a major factor in keeping content trapped behind language barriers. It’s clear that substantial benefits will reward whoever can remove the process bottlenecks and reduce costs through cloud-based rationalization - in terms of audience share - and the democratization of premium content to untapped audiences around the world.

The Aim of the POC:

The Aim of the POC:

The key desired outcomes of the project are threefold:

  1. To formally design & document a comprehensive blueprint that outlines best practices and key considerations for building a cloud-based media supply chain for the localization of entertainment content.
  2. Further, to create a localization supply chain that supports; a) management & presentation of fractional ownership of localized assets, and b) canonical visibility for licensors for all licensee created localized assets to better enable the process of accessed localizations.
  3. To showcase the opportunity of rapidly deploying an interconnected media & entertainment supply chain using best in class vendors & partners.
The Innovation:

The Innovation:

This white paper will provide a blueprint that outlines best practices and key considerations for building a cloud-based media supply chain for the localization of entertainment content. The contents of this blueprint will comprise of;

  1. a reference solution architecture of interconnected component solutions & partners, integrated through AWS;
  2. a process flow covering all the required steps for the use case of acquiring content for international presentation, and;
  3. a detailed narration of the key considerations, recommended standards and best practices throughout.
