100 Years of Television

Spotlight: 100 Years of Television - Where past meets future

At IBC2025, we celebrated a century of broadcast innovation with the immersive “100 Years of Television” exhibit.

The installation charted the evolution of television from John Logie Baird’s 1925 experiments to today’s streaming era, inviting visitors and next-generation creators to help imagine what comes next through interactive contributions.

The exhibit occupied a central place in Future Tech in Hall 14, a hub designed to showcase the very best of innovation, emerging tools, and next-gen talent. As part of the experience, attendees shared their favourite television memories, which were woven into a dynamic, interactive display blending archival heritage with real-time storytelling.

From sporting triumphs to royal milestones, the power of television runs deep. We brought together a group of people – spanning generations, backgrounds and life experiences – to share the most impactful TV moments from the last 100 years.

From the Queen’s Coronation to the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, each story was powerful, personal, and unforgettable. We crafted these emotional testimonies into a short film that premiered at IBC2025 as part of our 100 Years of Television feature in Hall 14. A celebration of how television has shaped us, united us, and stayed with us across time.
