Where innovation has no limits
On 6th of March, the IBC Accelerator Media Innovation Programme hosted Kickstart Day 2024, a full-day event focusing on media industry innovation. Pitches for the 12 Accelerators shortlisted projects were presented in a quick-fire round in front of an international M&E audience.
The event also included networking drinks and the presentation of the 2023 Accelerator Project of the Year Award.

What is the Accelerator Innovation Programme?
The IBC Accelerator Innovation Programme has, since its inception in 2019, reflected key emerging themes and challenges within the broad media & entertainment ecosystem.
The IBC Accelerator Kickstart Day is an opportunity to get involved and learn more about the programme – a framework to support fast-track collaboration and innovation, identifying, addressing and solving business and technology challenges in a matter of months.
Of the 12 pitches selected from all the submissions, only 8 will be chosen post Kickstart Day to go forward as Accelerator projects (this could mean some ideas may merge with others (where there are direct synergies). The teams then begin work on their solution and PoC that will be demonstrated on the Accelerator Zone and showcased on the Innovation stage at IBC2024 in September.

2023 Accelerator Project of the Year Award Winner
The 2023 Project of the Year Award was awarded to the Responsive Narrative Factory Project Team.
Responsive Narrative Factory delivered the right narrative for any consumer in real time via a metadata-powered content fast-track, to demonstrate a new component-based approach to quickly and cost effectively creating multiple versions of content from a single master to enable precision targeting of programs to different demographics or regions or groups that can be monetised for premium Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV advertisers.
