Thorsten Lohmar

Thorsten Lohmar graduated from the Technical University of Aachen (1997), where he also received his PhD (2011) in Electrical Engineering. Thorsten joined Ericsson in Germany in 1998 and was working for many years in different business and Ericsson Research units, often in relation to standards. He worked on a variety of topics related to mobile communication systems and led research projects specifically in the multimedia technologies area. He is focusing on wireless video delivery (downlink and uplink) and delivery optimizations. Lately, he worked on professional media production and with different players to integrate 5G network technology into existing media production workflows, leveraging Network APIs.
