Polly Hickling

Polly is Learning and Development Lead for Media at Atos, where she supports industry transformation through skills development, knowledge sharing, and inclusive talent strategies. She also serves as VP of Education at SMPTE, leading global education initiatives and championing access to careers in media technology.
With over a decade in academia, Polly led Solent University’s Media Technology programme for 13 years, working closely with industry to redesign curricula and prepare students for emerging technical demands. Her leadership contributed to strong graduate outcomes and increased diversity in the talent pipeline.
Polly’s work bridges education, technology, and professional development. She is passionate about creating inclusive, future-ready learning opportunities that support both individuals and organisations as the media landscape evolves.
