Mark Waddell
Mark graduated in Electronic Engineering from the University of Lancaster and currently works as a Lead Engineer at BBC R&D specialising in Wireless technologies. He has worked on wireless technologies for programme making for over 20 years, designing RF receivers and demodulators for the first digital wireless cameras. In recent years, he has focussed on wireless IP solutions and networks for TV production and spectrum engineering. He chairs the Programme Making and Special Events group at the Digital Television Group (DTG) and is a visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde. His research interests include low-latency IP streaming technologies, video encoding, RF systems, networks, cloud infrastructure and their deployment at the BBC.
