This panel will explore a pivotal moment in live sports broadcasting: the shift from traditional broadcasters to global streaming platforms. Hosted by a leading European technology figure and featuring experts from AWS, DAZN, and M2A Media, the discussion will use the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 as a case study, a landmark event delivered to a worldwide audience in which the so-called legacy broadcasters were also served broadcast feeds by DAZN.

The focus will be on the technical architecture and how M2A Media, in collaboration with AWS and DAZN deployed a cloud-native, scalable infrastructure on AWS. This architecture was designed to handle, with resilience, the immense scale and complexity of the tournament, which involved broadcasting dozens of concurrent matches from various locations across North America, to a global audience.

Why should you join this session? This is not only a technical case study on how to build a resilient cloud infrastructure that enables global streaming to millions, but how FIFA turned the traditional broadcast rights model on its head, cementing DAZN’s position as a truly global sports streaming powerhouse, reaching millions of their own subscribers worldwide, as well as millions more on traditional broadcast networks, via the many sub-licensing deals they struck.
