In this session two very different approaches to improving streamed content delivery are presented.

The first utilises QUIC over http combined with server side controlled ABR (adaptive bit rate) pacing to mitigate the bursty nature of contemporary streaming techniques to reduce delivery latency. Compelling experimental results are presented.

The second presents CMMF (Coded Multisource Media Format) a protocol agnostic container format that enables efficient, decentralized multi-source, multi-path, and multi-access content delivery for services requiring high availability and robustness but also have strict latency and bandwidth requirements. Comprehensive and impressive field trial results are also presented.
