Join Greening of Streaming at IBC for our regular GoS Hour featuring three sessions on streaming sustainability.
Satellite Broadcasting Shows its First Green Credentials: Release of LoCaT update
The first-ever environmental comparison of satellite TV delivery against IP and terrestrial options will be presented by Vincent Grivet, on behalf of the LoCat consortium, which includes our member EutelSat. The French Carbon 4 company delivered a groundbreaking addition to the original 2021 LoCaT Study, covering satellite delivery's environmental impact across Europe, Latin America, and North America.
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session, which promises to be lively.

Greening of Streaming progress report: what we've been measuring and why it matters
We will present results from our recent measurement campaigns testing real streaming equipment and networks across the delivery chain and give updates on our Remote Energy Measurement (REM) platform, which enables companies to track actual energy usage remotely rather than relying on estimates. Plus updates from our community of 25 member organisations collaborating to make streaming sustainable.

Introducing the Media Climate Accord: the industry's new sustainability pledge
The Media Climate Accord launches at IBC by MTSS with ambitious goals: 40% emissions reduction by 2030 and net zero by 2040 for global live events. Greening of Streaming will lead the critical work of measuring network and device energy consumption to track progress toward these targets.
The mini-presentation will be followed by an open discussion where your input on building effective measurement frameworks is very welcome.

Join us in shaping a sustainable streaming future through collaboration, measurement, and action.
