Getting around Amsterdam
North / South Line

The Amsterdam Noord/Zuid metro line is now operational and your free GVB travel pass will be valid on this line. This line will connect the North part of the city via Central Station with the RAI stop Europaplein, taking only 8 minutes to travel to the RAI Amsterdam from Central Station.

IBC will again supply 5 Day Free of Charge GVB transport passes which will be issued on a first come first served basis at the show. These will be available from the IBC information points and will be valid for travel between 13 and 17 September inclusive. Please ensure you have your attendee badge to collect your pass.

Eurostar now runs a direct service from London St Pancras International to Amsterdam Centraal - twice a day on weekdays and once a day on weekends. The journey takes just 3hrs 41 mins to get from city centre to city centre with free wi-fi offered onboard and a power socket at every seat.

Food and drinks are available from Café Métropole and, if you are travelling in Standard Premier or Business Premier, you will get a complimentary meal.

On the way back, take a Thalys train from Amsterdam Centraal to Brussels-Midi/Zuid. There is then a quick change onto a direct Eurostar service from Brussels to London St Pancras International in under two hours. To change at Brussels, hop off the Thalys train (don’t forget your luggage), then head to the ground floor. You will find the Eurostar departure area under Platforms 1 and 2. Scan the barcode on your Eurostar ticket at the ticket gates, pass through security and passport control and you are on your way again.

All IBC visitors are entitled to a free GVB public transport pass which will be available for collection at any of the RAI information points. There are two tram stations close to the RAI - Amsterdam RAI Station or RAI Europaplein. If you are travelling from Amsterdam Central Station, you can either take the Amstelveen express tram 51 (travelling time: 12 minutes, exit at the Amsterdam RAI station) or tram 4 (travelling time: 30 minutes, exit at the RAI Europaplein). Shuttle Bus

IBC provides a free shuttle bus service to and from a selection of the major hotels in Amsterdam directly to the RAI as well as from Schiphol Airport to the RAI and back. You will be able to downlod the leaflet and timetable nearer to the show.


One of the best ways to get around the city is by bike, you can hire a bike here.

Car Rental

SIXT offer a 10% discount during IBC2018 for those presenting their IBC delegate/exhibitor pass.


Visitors can buy a parking ticket for one day, valid from 00:00hrs until 24:00hrs. Tickets are available from the vending machines on site. One day parking will cost €18 including VAT.

Remember that you can book and purchase your parking ticket in advance. This way, you are assured a parking space, and, having paid already, can easily enter and exit the parking garage without pauses or delays.

TCA taxis are available to and from the RAI and throughout the city. A typical taxi journey from the RAI into the city centre should cost around €20.00 and from the airport to the RAI it should cost around €40.00. Contact details +31 (0) 207 777777.
