The Visitor Experience

The Visitor Experience

We realise that IBC may be the first large event that many people will attend for some time. Rest assured, we have put a lot of thought into planning what that experience will be like this year. We aim to deliver a unique hybrid event that enables our industry to connect, engage and explore the future of media together again. To achieve this aim, we are working closely with The City of Amsterdam and The RAI to ensure attendees can get the most out of IBC while keeping everyone safe. The world is different today, and the IBC experience will reflect that.

Arriving at IBC

Gaining access to IBC will feel like coming to a major sporting event like the Olympics or an arena rock concert. You would typically pass through security at these events and have your ID and ticket checked at a perimeter fence. IBC will use a similar approach, with multiple entry points where everyone will be checked under COVID health and safety protocols.

We'll be offering the option to use facial recognition for contactless registration and badge pickup.

Inside and Outside The RAI

You'll be able to move throughout the RAI, including outside spaces, without further checks.

We'll create a festival-style feel all around the RAI site, with plenty of open and covered seating areas, food outlets and places to meet. Restaurants, bars and networking events will operate the same protocols as you would find elsewhere.

Halls will have extra wide aisles where possible and venue capacity will be managed by the onsite team, aided by AI cameras to closely monitor numbers in all areas.

Paper-based marketing will be limited as much as possible. As well as reducing the potential for virus transmission, this will be a significant step in reducing environmental impact.
