Wendy Mitchell is a journalist, moderator and film festival consultant. She is the former editor of Screen International and ScreenDaily.com, and she still serves as a contributing editor for Screen.
She consults for film festivals including San Sebastian, Zurich, Connext (Ghent), Goteborg, CPH DOX, Tallinn and more.
She is also the editor of EFAs Close-up, a topical online magazine published twice a year by the European Film Academy.
Mitchell is also a guest lecturer at the NFTS and delivers bespoke sessions about press strategy and film festival strategy to industry groups.
She regularly moderates talks with filmmakers and film industry experts in Cannes, Berlin, Sundance London, Rotterdam, IDFA, Locarno, Rome, the EU’s European Film Forum, and the Zurich Summit.
Before moving to London in 2005, Mitchell was a journalist in the US, working at publications including IndieWire, Entertainment Weekly and Rolling Stone. She has also written for Variety, The Wall Street Journal, The Daily Telegraph, the New York Daily News, Time Out New York, Playboy, Glamour, Salon and Billboard, among many others.
