Mike haroun is the Managing Director of Haroun Studios, a family business that spans three generations since its establishment in the 1040’s. Mike took over the business in the year 2000 upon his return from the US after university graduation and a 15 year successful career in Chemical Engineering. Haroun Studios is a film lab and a studio for large TV productions and is involved in different activities related to the movie industry and TV stations. Mike renovated the business and introduced new concepts and technologies and brought the business to the forefront of technology including laser engraving, film scanning, digital mastering of movies and digital archiving. His clients include major film distributors in the Middle East to whom he provides all types of post production services such as film editing, subtitling, color grading, DCP mastering, audio mastering, duplication and film scanning.
Mike is a frequent speaker and has published several papers at the NACE annual conventions. He provides local schools and universities with free training on all aspects of film technologies for young generations interested in film making. He lives in Beirut, Lebanon, is an avid skier, windsurfer, hiker, and mountaineer and loves to go sailing every year around the Mediterranean sea.
