Edmundo Hoyle received his BSc in Physics at The National University of Trujillo, Peru, in 2004, and his MSc and DSc at The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with specialization in Image Processing in 2013. He has experience in developing projects in Pattern Recognition, Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence, and Computer Vision.
He is employed as a researcher at GLOBO, Brazil's national broadcaster, and he has participated in many projects which used AI to create new content, reduce costs, and increase productivity. In 2017, he worked on a project called ”Powered By Respect”, which won the Silver Lion Award at Cannes Film Festival. In this project, a tetraplegic man, a man who suffers from paralysis of all four limbs, was able to drive a Formula 1 race car using only his mind.
Edmundo loves to watch Formula 1, and has practiced sports like running, table tennis, and tennis.
