Wolfgang Ruppel
Dr. Wolfgang Ruppel is a technology export with more than 25 years of experience in broadcast and
media.
Dr. Ruppel holds a professorship for Media Technology at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden, Germany since 2006. At RheinMain University, he directs the undergraduate and graduate media technology programs. Dr. Ruppel has been working with leading media companies and institutions across North America and Europe, including The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Netflix, RTL and Fraunhofer Gesellschaft. His recent research work includes standardization and software development for IMF, AI-supported film restoration and enhancement, and workflow automation for digital transfers and postproduction workflows.
Prior to 2009, Dr. Ruppel served as Head of T-Systems Development of a Digital Cinema distribution platform. Dr. Ruppel earned a Dipl.-Ing. degree and a Dr.-Ing. degree from Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany.
