Tim Claman is VP of Platform & Solutions at Avid. Tim is a media technology innovator with a track record of designing and developing award-winning tools and technologies for the media and entertainment industry. Before joining Avid, Tim was CTO at Snell Advanced Media and Quantel. Previously, as CTO of Avid, Tim helped shape the company's technology and product strategies over a period of 14 years. Tim began his initial tenure at Avid as Senior Product Manager for Pro Tools, designing many of the features that led to the 2004 Academy Award for Pro Tools. Tim's unique perspective on media technology stems from his career as an accomplished editor, sound designer and mixer. Tim worked at leading US post production facilities, working on many high-profile film and TV productions. Before working in Film and Television, Tim was a professional recording engineer and musician in Los Angeles. Tim holds a BA from Dartmouth College, where he graduated with High Honors in Music Composition, and is a member of SMPTE.
