Sasha Twining
Sasha is Head of Transformation Services at the European Broadcasting Union, the world’s leading alliance of Public Service Media, with 115 Members in 56 countries. Sasha built the Transformation Services as a new consultancy function of the EBU, providing strategic support on operational, technological, and organizational aspects of PSM strategy as they pivot to digital. His work takes him to all corners of Europe, working closely with the senior leadership of public media companies large and small, and facing enormously diverse transformation challenges. He also leads the EBU’s work on Organization Design and the Future of Work.
Sasha joined the EBU six years ago, prior to which he was in academia. His research and teaching covered digital culture, digital ethnography, research methods and business management, and he holds a PhD in Media and Arts Technology from the University of London. His wider background includes starting out as an artist, being a business owner, and many years in events management.
Sasha sits on the Advisory Boards of a number of international research projects, including ‘PSM-AP: Public Service Media in the Age of Platforms’ and ‘PANCOPOP: Pandemic Communication in Times of Populism’.
Sasha’s love of problem solving, storytelling, and a hands-on approach to work means he is most happy with a complex question, a crowd, and a whiteboard.
