Roberto Iacoviello
Roberto Iacoviello is Lead Research Engineer at RAI's Centre for Research, Innovation and Technological Experimentation (CRITS), where he has been driving innovation in broadcast technologies since 2007. A graduate of Politecnico di Torino, his work focuses on artificial intelligence, generative AI, virtual production, immersive media, and next-generation video technologies for television production. Roberto plays an active role in shaping the future of the media industry through international standards and collaborative research. Within the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), he chairs the Video Evaluation and Immersive Media groups, fostering cooperation among public service broadcasters on emerging production workflows and media technologies. He also leads the Enhanced Video Coding group at MPAI and contributes to MPEG standardization activities. A frequent speaker at international industry events, Roberto brings extensive expertise in AI-enabled production, virtual studios, and advanced imaging technologies. At IBC this year, he will share his perspective on the evolution of virtual production and the opportunities and challenges of multi-camera production workflows.
