Founder & CEO, Oovvuu
Australia
Oovvuu was formed by a team of journalists, filmmakers and C-suite media executives in late 2014 to partner world-class publishers and broadcasters to build a video-led news future. Funded by IBM and Amazon, Oovvuu has built a proprietary end-to-end artificial intelligence platform that watches the video output of 40 broadcasters, and reads news articles from 100,000 trusted publishers, and matches them. It means a video from a UK or US broadcaster can be watched in a relevant news article, anywhere in the world, and reach a billion potential viewers, in less than a second. Advertising revenues are then shared. Oovvuu's tech is used in 143 countries by companies including Google, the BBC, Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, ITV, Al Jazeera, VPRO, News Corp, The Guardian, Seven West Media and more than 40 others.
