Richard Phillips

CTO, Arts Alliance Media
United Kingdom
Rich joined Arts Alliance Media in 2003 to apply his previous broadcast industry technology expertise and experience to the then embryonic field of digital cinema. He led AAM's pioneering work with the technology and delivered AAM's successful bid and deployment of the UK's innovative Digital Screen Network, one of the first scale digital cinema deployments in the world. Since then Rich has led AAM's technology efforts across all business areas including deployment of over 5000 digital screens under AAM VPF schemes in Europe, South Africa and Latin America.   In recent years, Rich has led AAM's software development and related services, helping to solidify AAM's position as the world's leading theatre management software provider and evangelising the case for innovation, automation, and centralised control in the rapidly changing post-conversion cinema industry. Rich has a B.Eng. in Electronic Engineering, is a contributing member of SMPTE and an active participant in the EDCF and UNIC.
