Richard Lindsay-Davies leads the DTG, the self-funding UK collaboration centre for innovation in digital TV technology, which reaches industry, government, academia and international partners. He has been a fundamental part of the UK TV industry success story for over two decades, starting his career in design at Sony before moving into consumer/strategic marketing at Toshiba/Pace. Richard founded Digital UK in 2005 while he was Director of Public Affairs at the DTG, and launched the Freesat TV platform in 2008 before returning to the DTG as Chief Executive later that year. Richard is known for his diversity of industry knowledge, strategic insight and experience as well as striving to keep the UK TV industry innovative, influential and world-leading. He has a proven track-record of delivering major projects successfully and is currently focused on the nexus of transformative disruption for our industry. Twenty-one years old this year, the DTG is a self-funding not-for-profit membership organisation which defines the requirements for every new TV and digital terrestrial television (DTT) receiver in the UK through the D-Book, which also forms the basis for other platforms such as YouView and Freesat.  Our portfolio of activity drives the demand for broadband in the UK, supports 700MHz Clearance and is central to ensuring continued access to television for the British public.
