Richard Dunlop
Richard Dunlop is Head of Geospatial at Heliguy, where he leads the company's work across a range of geospatial technologies, including RTK-enabled drones, 3DGS handheld scanners, SLAM LiDAR, GNSS, and 3DGS software. Over the past five years, he has helped organisations adopt and integrate these tools into their surveying and data capture workflows.
With a technical background in geomatics and surveying, Richard's career has increasingly focused on the intersection of traditional AEC survey practice and the film and virtual production industries. His work explores how established survey workflows - built for the demands of architecture, engineering, and construction - can be adapted to benefit production environments, from location scanning to virtual set creation.
Richard is particularly interested in bridging the gap between these two worlds, helping film and media professionals unlock the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability that geospatial technology already delivers in the built environment sector.
