Raed Fakih

Raed Fakih is the Director of Planning and Newsgathering at Al Jazeera Channel, overseeing global operations across more than 70 countries. He leads international bureaus, manages field teams and correspondents, and drives the Channel’s editorial planning and strategic coverage.
A journalist since 1997, Fakih began his career in Lebanon before joining Al Jazeera in 2011 as a reporter. He was appointed Executive Producer in 2018 and assumed his current leadership role in 2020.
Over the past two decades, he has reported from more than 50 countries, covering major global events and conflicts, including the war in Ukraine. As Al Jazeera’s correspondent at the United Nations, he extensively covered international diplomacy, including Syria and Yemen peace negotiations.
