Purminder Gandhu

Purminder brings decades of broadcast technology experience, from highly skilled technical operations at the BBC across studios, live events and remote locations worldwide, to R&D leadership and active delivery of technical transition.
At BBC R&D she led the Edge Technology Forum, growing it into a recognised space for cross-industry collaboration, diversifying its voices and expanding its reach across the sector.
A sought-after voice on the global stage, she has spoken and moderated at IBC, NAB, EBU, SVG, MPTS and DTG Futuretech26. Her work spans IBC Accelerator projects and award-winning 5G connectivity partnerships. Following NAB 2025 she continued working with IAMT as their Technology Evangelist through to IBC 2025.
She is an active mentor, a Non-Executive Director with RISE, the gender equity organisation for the screen industries, and works directly with organisations through her consultancy KAURWAVE Ltd, advising on emerging technology, technical transition and the future of content creation. As a trustee of the Baker Dearing Educational Trust she supports the University Technical Colleges network, championing the technical skills education that creates real opportunity for the next generation entering our industry.
