Pieter-Jan Speelmans

Pieter-Jan is Co-founder and CTO at THEO Technologies. Since he developed the first version of THEOplayer years ago, he has focussed on improving the viewer experience when streaming. His approach is a simple one: absorb knowledge and learn from solutions in different fields and identify those elements which can be leveraged within the media industry. From 2017 onwards, he has been working actively to improve QoE from perspectives beyond the video player with the development of the High Efficiency Streaming protocol and THEOlive, the first HTTP-based video API for real-time streaming to any number of viewers globally.
