Piers O'Hanlon

Piers O’Hanlon works at BBC R&D, focusing on Low Latency media delivery along with contributions to related standards and implementations. Previously he was at the University of Oxford, where he worked on IoT and mobile (4/5G) privacy and security. Prior to that, at University College London, he researched media transport, large-scale conferencing applications, IPv6, and network congestion control. Additionally, he has consulted for several companies and startups, developing bespoke systems and applications. He has contributed to working groups and specifications in various standards bodies, including CTA-WAVE, DASH-IF, IETF, ITU, and W3C. He has also authored over 40 publications.
