Phil Kesby
Phil Kesby is a chartered Engineer with over 25 years of experience designing and delivering broadcast systems for AM, FM, DAB and DTT, continuing to innovate and develop these technologies to enable optimised deployment for broadcasters, network operators and consumers. Phil has recently led the development of new approaches for the reduction of energy consumption in terrestrial broadcast platforms and developed the design for synchronisation of the Arqiva DAB network. Earlier in his career, he led the design and delivery of encoding, compression, distribution and transmission infrastructure for several Arqiva broadcast platforms. He is a member of the World DAB Technical Committee where he has been a leading contributor to the delivery of ETSI standards. Phil was formally a member of the DVB Steering Board. He is vice-chairperson for the ETSI committee defining harmonised standards for broadcast transmitters and receivers (ERM TG-17). Phil received his Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Leicester (UK).
