Peter Brightwell is a Lead Engineer at BBC Research and Development, leading BBC’s applied research on infrastructure for live media. He has an extensive background in broadcast and technology, in particular video compression, file-based acquisition, virtual graphics, networked media and system automation. He is a frequent contributor to industry work on interoperability, including development of the Advanced Media Workflow Association’s Networked Media Open Specifications (NMOS), and more recently on the transition to hybrid and cloud based production. Peter is chair of AMWA's Networked Media Incubator, and co-chair of EBU's System Design and Automation group, and leads work on media orchestration on the Horizon 5G-RECORDS project.
