Dr. M. Oskar van Deventer is senior scientist on media networking. His focus is on international standards. He is one of the main contributors to the MPEG MORE standard on media orchestration. He has been editor of DVB Companion Screens and Streams and active contributor to HbbTV, ETSI, IETF, OIPF and MPEG in the areas of media synchronisation, CDN interconnection, adaptive streaming and media orchestration. He was leading a work-package in the European HBB-Next R&D project on next-generation hybrid broadcast-broadband television, where he developed technologies for media synchronisation and group recommendations of media content. He has won several international awards in the area of Mobile Gaming. He is (co)author of one book, more than 150 publications, over 80 patent applications, over 750 standardization contributions and he holds a Guinness world record.
