Morag McIntosh
Morag is a media technologist and an AI for live production frontrunner, who has recently taken the position of Head of AI at QTV. A globally recognised subject matter expert in live production control technology, she is one of the people who led the industry's shift from manual galleries to software-defined production, through a decade running her own specialist consultancy for broadcasters around the world. She also led the BBC's transformation to software-defined live production, and for six years managed the BBC's global studio and gallery automation estate, the largest of its kind anywhere, carrying 200+ hours of live output every day. Her co-leadership on IBC Accelerators for AI in live production took IBC Project of the Year in both 2024 and 2025, and the Broadcast Tech Award for Best AI Innovation in 2025. She was named a TechWomen100 in 2024 and won the Rise Award for Technical Operations in 2023.
Morag began her career as a trainee vision mixer/TD at the BBC, moving through the ranks before working on the international circuit. Behind all of her work sits the editorial judgement, live experience and depth of workflow understanding that come with 25 years 'in the chair', directing and vision mixing some of the biggest live broadcasts in the world.
