Luke Porwol

Dr. Lukasz “Luke” Porwol is a senior research fellow, executive leader and technology innovator working at the forefront of XR, AI and immersive media.

He is Head of Sponsorship for MIT Reality Hack, one of the world’s most influential XR innovation events, and, representing MIT Reality Hack, serves as a Champion of the IBC Accelerator 2026 project IFeL: Immersive Festival Live - Remote Presence at Scale. The project brings together leading media and technology partners to explore the future of immersive live experiences, remote presence and next-generation broadcast.

Luke also works with the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology (FCAT) on emerging technology research and collaborates across leading innovation ecosystems including MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Arizona State University and USC.

He is Director of the XR Lab at the University of Galway and has nearly two decades of experience bridging research, industry, government and entrepreneurship.

A recognised international figure in the XR ecosystem, Luke brings together technology leaders, researchers, startups, investors and policymakers to turn ambitious emerging technologies into scalable, real-world innovation.
