Lee Wright
Lee Wright began his career in 2003 as a Dialup Networking Technician for a national Internet Services Provider. In 2004, he joined the IT Department at The Royal
Mint where he managed the data networks of office and heavy manufacturing environments. Working in conjunction with the project team responsible for shop floor
automation, he was able to hone his skills with the real-time data networks of the manufacturing plant and shop floor data collection systems. In 2007, Lee took the
opportunity to join the Computing department at Formula 1, where he specialised in the IT Infrastructure for Racing Systems and TV Broadcast.
During his 15 years at Formula 1 he has consulted as a Subject Matter Expert on many strategic projects including the Standard Communications System that delivers
On-Board Camera and Telemetry from the cars; the introduction of AWS and cloud computing; Remote Production and Operation; and the refurbishment of the
Technical and Production facilities at our Media & Technology Centre. Today, Lee is the Head of IT Operations, responsible for the end-to-end IT Infrastructure
required for a Formula 1 event covering Cloud, Network and Operational Systems.
