Krystel began her career in 2016 through the BBC Broadcast Engineering degree apprenticeship scheme. This three-year course introduced her to the broadcast industry and gave the opportunity for her to work with leaders across the field in a variety of roles.

Since joining CNN as an Associate BIT Engineer in 2019, Krystel has been named the RTS Young Technologist of the Year 2020 and had the privilege of joining the judging panel in 2022. This year she is also taking part in the RISE mentoring scheme as a mentee.
