Konstantin Glasman graduated from St.Petersburg State Electrotechnical University with a degree in communication engineering. He received his Ph.D. degree in film and television technology from St.Petersburg University of Film and Television. He held various research and teaching positions at the Television Research Institute and St.Petersburg University of Film and Television: engineer, researcher, professor, head of department, vice rector for R&D. He has published over 150 papers in journals and conference proceedings. His main research interests include image processing, visual quality aspects of video coding, multimodal quality evaluation in digital television systems with video and audio compression, multimedia resource allocation.
Prof. Glasman is currently Head of the Department of Television and Head of the International Relations Office of St.Petersburg University of Film and Television. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the IEEE Consumer Electronics Society, Chair, Video/Multimedia Committee. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine and the scientific editor of the MediaVision Magazine. He is a member of the IABM Peter Wayne Award for Design & Innovation Panel.
Konstantin Glasman is the founder of the IEEE CESoc TV (Official YouTube Broadcast Channel of the IEEE CE Society) established to increase attractiveness of IEEE as a globalized community to the youth and stimulate young electrical and electronics researchers, engineers, and students to contribute to IEEE activities.
