Kate is one of the best known Internet advertising pioneers in Europe. After early success at Alta Vista and DoubleClick Kate joined Google as Director, UK, Ireland and Benelux in 2001, notably as Google's first employee outside the U.S. At Google she drove strong international success. After Google Kate was Vice President & MD Europe Bebo and then CEO AOL Europe. As head of AOL Europe, Kate Burns was responsible for setting strategy and overseeing the day-to-day operations of AOL's UK & Ireland business. During her time at AOL she led an astonishing business turnaround. Kate and her team successfully re-set the strategy and re-build the business into an efficient profit making region.  After a successful tenure at BuzzFeed as European GM, Kate is now running her own consulting practice, working with a variety of exciting and interesting companies such as top You Tube channel WatchMojo and ED Tech start up Eedi. Burns is a regular guest across Europe at key speaker platforms discussing topics spanning current and future trends in the media, marketing and advertising landscape. She is also a keen horsewoman and regularly competes show jumping at a senior level.
