Gilles Teniou

Gilles Teniou is Senior Technical Standards Director at Tencent, where he works on multimedia standards covering audiovisual formats, immersive media, and cloud-based delivery systems. He chairs the 3GPP SA4 Working Group and contributes to MPEG and JVET, including roles in MPEG-AI and Market Needs.
Before joining Tencent, Gilles spent 14 years at Orange, focusing on standardization for TV and audiovisual services across various platforms. His work has been recognized with awards such as the Connected TV Award, the 3GPP Excellence Award, and a Technology & Engineering Emmy® for contributions to adaptive streaming.
He has authored several technical publications and regularly presents at IBC and other industry events, sharing insights on media standards and emerging technologies.
