François Legrand is a seasoned leader at CBC/Radio-Canada, having dedicated over 20 years to the organization in various technical and management capacities.

He recently spent seven years as the Senior Director of Engineering, where he successfully spearheaded the implementation of critical IT and Broadcast infrastructure projects. A highlight of this period was overseeing the development of the "Nouvelle Maison de Radio-Canada" in Montréal, one of the world's first and largest multimedia broadcast facilities built entirely on the ST2110 standard.

Currently, as Senior Director of Innovation, his focus is on propelling the media industry into the digital age. He is dedicated to accelerating the transition to advanced software solutions by adopting the latest innovations from the IT sector.

Beyond his professional life, François is an enthusiastic maker with hobbies including 3D printing, CNC machining, and microcontroller-based electronics. He is committed to inspiring the next generation of engineers as the lead mentor for the FIRSTTM Robotics Competition Team 9234 - Les Aigles d’Or.
