Esteban Vazquez Ferreiro

Esteban Vázquez Ferreiro is the founding partner and CEO of Tesla Technologies & Software, a Spanish R&D company that builds the systems that have to keep working when everything else has stopped. With more than 20 years in the technology sector, he has led engineering teams across core banking, telecoms, public administration and live media.
Under his leadership the company has become a recurring name in European deep-tech research, as Experiment Owner in the Horizon Europe programmes 6G-PATH (HoloCast-6G, live immersive media over 6G) and ResilMesh (AuraSec, early threat detection for critical infrastructure), and as coordinator of Imagine-Soil within SOILSCAPE. At IBC2026 he heads the technical stream of Q-Stream, the company's second consecutive IBC Accelerator project, working together with his fellow partners at Tesla Technologies and the project's Champions, BFBS, the IET and Associated Press, on quantum-secure, network-adaptive and verifiable live media infrastructure. He is quick to point out that the results on show in Amsterdam belong to that whole team.
Esteban is a firm advocate of measured, transparent engineering: Tesla Technologies publishes its KPIs on public testbeds, including the ones it misses. He is also an active speaker and educator, regularly sharing his work on resilient media networks, applied AI and cybersecurity with industry and academic audiences.
From the R&D centre in Santiago de Compostela and hubs in Madrid, Manchester, Buenos Aires and Arad, he leads a distributed team with a singular focus: taking the piece nobody wants and putting it into production.
