Erik Stare received a M.S.E.E. in 1984 from KTH in Stockholm. Since 1992 he is with Teracom focusing on R&D related to various aspects of DTT. He has been deeply involved in the development and standardisation of the broadcast systems DVB-T, DVB-H, DVB-T2, DVB-NGH, DAB+ and ATSC 3.0.
He is the inventor of MPE-FEC in DVB-H and Time Frequency Slicing in DVB-T2 and DVB-NGH. He has participated in a number of European R&D projects under the ACTS, IST and CELTIC programmes. His current work focuses on next-generation terrestrial broadcast systems, in particular based on the WiB concept (Wideband reuse-1).
