Christian Borowski
Christian Borowski is a broadcast designer at SWR, the public broadcaster for southwestern Germany. His work focuses on broadcast graphics, visual storytelling, and the development of new production workflows for television and digital media.
He studied Communication Design in Mannheim and has been working for SWR since 2016. His professional background covers broadcast design, motion graphics, post-production, and real-time 3D production. Over the years, he has worked on a wide variety of productions and special projects, ranging from daily broadcast operations to experimental formats and technology-driven productions.
In recent years, he has been increasingly involved in innovation projects related to virtual production, real-time graphics, and AI-assisted creative workflows. He is particularly interested in how new technologies can be integrated into real production environments and how they can support editorial and creative teams in practice.
His work on SWR’s Virtual Production proof of concept focused on evaluating LED-based virtual production under real broadcast conditions, with a strong emphasis on live multi-camera workflows. This experience formed the basis of his IBC 2026 Technical Paper, which examines practical challenges, technical solutions, and lessons learned from introducing virtual production in a public-service broadcasting environment.
