Chris Northwood

Senior Technologist, BBC
Chris is a senior research technologist working in the User Experience team. He studied BEng Computer Science at the University of York and achieved an MSc in Computer Science with Speech & Language Technology from the University of Sheffield, before working for the University of Oxford as a software engineer on research projects. His background is in software engineering, having originally joined the BBC on the Digital Media Graduate Scheme, working as a software engineer on parts of the BBC such as iWonder, Bitesize and Taster. After leaving the BBC and spending time as a consultant in the private sector, he rejoined the BBC to work in the R&D user experience team. His specialities include the areas around full-stack web development, as well as dev-ops and cloud architecture.
