Barbara Devilee

Barbara Devilee is a Senior Lecturer and researcher at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, where she has taught in higher education for eighteen years. Within the Digital Life research group, she studies how immersive technology and narrative mechanisms can change behaviour, her doctoral work asks whether VR and generative AI can help young people build a steadier sense of self. Alongside that research she leads curriculum development, coordinates minors and coaches colleagues in their teaching, using design-oriented research to keep learning outcomes measurable. She brings critical ethics and storytelling into how students learn about technology, and she looks for the places where the classroom and the media industry can meet.
