Appu Shaji

Appu is the CEO and Chief Scientist at Mobius Labs, where he leads the development of a cost-effective, fully multimodal GenAI model stack that is five times more affordable than competitors. Before Mobius Labs, he was the Head of R&D at EyeEm, managing a top-tier computer vision research team in Europe. Appu also co-founded sight.io, a computational aesthetics startup acquired by EyeEm in 2014. He holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Bombay and has held postdoctoral positions at EPFL.
