António Piteira
António Piteira is VP of Engineering at wTVision. He began his academic path in Electrotechnical Engineering and later pursued Computer Science, building a background that combines engineering principles with software development and applied technology.
With more than 20 years of experience in broadcast technology and software engineering, António has worked extensively across real-time graphics engines, end-to-end video workflows, computer vision architectures and AI integration. His career combines technical leadership, R&D and engineering management, with a strong focus on taking new technologies from concept through to implementation in demanding real-time production environments, where performance, reliability and operational efficiency are critical.
At wTVision, António leads software engineering and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop scalable, reliable and high-performance technologies for broadcast and media workflows. His work connects research, software development and market application, helping transform advanced technologies into practical, software-defined solutions for live sports and complex media operations, from initial technical exploration through to production-ready solutions.
António has also been directly involved in the research and development of AI-driven approaches to camera pose estimation and their application to augmented reality and real-time broadcast graphics. This work brings together computer vision, AI and real-time graphics to address practical challenges in camera tracking and graphics alignment in live sports production. His involvement spans both the research itself and the ongoing development work required to translate those concepts into usable workflow solutions for the market.
His technical expertise and hands-on involvement in AI-driven and software-defined broadcast workflows reflect his role in bridging research and practical implementation within wTVision’s engineering organization.
