The Asia‑Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD), established in August 1977 under UNESCO, is a unique intergovernmental organisation located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
It brings together 26 sovereign full‑member countries and around 50 affiliate organisations from across Asia‑Pacific, Europe, Africa, Arab States and North America. AIBD promotes a vibrant, cohesive electronic media environment through policy guidance, training, research, and major events, notably its annual flagship Asia Media Summit, which attracts roughly 500 industry leaders. It also organises specialised workshops, conferences, e‑learning programmes, and international awards to support broadcasting and media innovation in the region.
