Platform-Native News in the Agentic AI Era

11 Sept 2026
IBC Content Everywhere Stage 2

Content Everywhere is no longer only a distribution challenge. For news broadcasters, it is now a real-time supply chain challenge: how to turn every live bulletin and VOD asset into the right format, context and endpoint at the speed audiences expect.

This session can examine how news organisations can move from broadcast-first workflows to always-on digital publishing models built for web, OTT, FAST and social. The discussion can cover the market pressures driving change, including younger audiences discovering news on mobile and social, the cost of manual clipping and reformatting, and the need to publish faster without weakening editorial trust.

The panel can then explore the enabling technologies behind this shift: live ingest, real-time story segmentation, content-aware reframing for multiple aspect ratios, automated captions and metadata, AI-generated summaries and articles, and direct publishing to digital endpoints.

A key focus will be governance. The session should discuss how policy-driven agentic AI can operate within newsroom-defined rules for brand voice, compliance and human approval, enabling scale without surrendering editorial control.

The session should also cover the business implications: extending the value of linear news production, creating more digital inventory, reaching younger audiences, and making multi-platform news sustainable without expanding production teams.
