The direction of travel for television / video distribution has been towards Internet based delivery over fixed line and wireless networks for some time, and some markets are looking to make that transition a complete one by turning off Broadcast infrastructure. The impact of this transition affects capacity, performance and resilience requirements of core and access networks. It also opens the discussion about spectrum re-use for new applications, and diversification of Internet network access including fixed, wireless and LEO mediums.
