From Open Models to Owned Intelligence: Building Sovereign AI for Media

As artificial intelligence becomes embedded across content creation, editorial, localisation, archive management, and media operations, organisations face a fundamental question: who controls the intelligence being built from their content?

Open-weight models offer broadcasters, studios, publishers, and creators a new way to develop AI around their own intellectual property, language, policies, and workflows. Combined with accelerated local computing, these models can increasingly be developed, customised, evaluated, and run on infrastructure the organisation directly controls.

In this session, Dell Technologies and NVIDIA will explore what this shift means for the future of media AI. Speakers will examine where local AI can improve privacy, responsiveness, customisation, and governance; when workloads need to scale beyond the workstation; and what organisations must consider before turning open models into production-ready capabilities.

The session will provide a practical view of how media companies can move from experimenting with external AI services to building intelligence they can own, govern, and scale.
